Six-month anniversary at Mt Tamborine

In July, Maria and I went to Mount Tamborine to celebrate our six-month wedding anniversary... See the photos here!

Mount Tamborine is just over one hour's drive south of Brisbane... It's a great little community on the top of a pretty big mountain plateau with insane views and vistas! From the mountain, you can see Surfers Paradise and Brisbane, pretty much at the same time, without problems!

While we were a bit unlucky with the weather, it was still a nice trip... The mountain has about 10 national parks with hiking tracks and lots of beautiful nature. Due to the less than good weather, we only went for one walk.

We stayed at Camelot B&B, which was nice enough... The big drawback about that place was that the rooms functioned as sound-boxes - seemingly amplifying any noise made inside and projecting it into the neighbouring rooms... Soundproofing must have been a pretty foreign concept to whomever constructed those rooms!

But the people there were nice and the breakfast was great!

The Polish Place across the road from Camelot was probably what made the trip! They serve traditional Polish dinners in a very Polish setting. I had pork hock in beer sauce and a bottle of the most beautiful beer (Polish) I have ever tasted! Maria went for a very big sausage and was quite happy with that one too!

The photos from the Polish Place didn't turn out very well, but you can check their website on http://www.polishplace.com.au.

All in all it was a nice little trip! Just too bad we didn't have more time! We'll definitely be back... And next time, at the Polish Place! :p
